Archery

Show off your skills using a bow to shoot arrows at a target at our scenic quarry-side archery range. Guided instruction and equipment is included. Ages 10 and over. Parental supervision is required.

Axe Throwing

This modern sport involves throwing an axe at a wooden target, and attempting to hit as close to the bullseye as possible. Get your competitor hat on in this safe and fun environment.

Rock Climbing

Our wall features acatch-and-hold technology which gives climbers the time they need to rest, recover, and finish their favorite route. Additionally, it has a built-in durability, safety and braking that both experts and novices trust.

Laser Clay Shooting

Suitable for first time and seasoned clay target shooters. Using a modified shotgun, participants fire an infared beam at reflective Clays. Real, deactivated guns are used with realistic sound effects that instruct the shooter when they have hit the target.

Pickleball

Come play the fastest growing sport in America - now available at Minerals Hotel! Pickleball is a cross between tennis & ping-pong and is ideal for any age and athletic ability. Matches can be played by singles or doubles.

Fishing

Stocked for fun to accommodate "catch + release", the sparkling freshwater quarry and dramatic 80 ft limestone cliff make for an inviting setting. Guests are welcome to bring their own equipment to the fishing hole duringselect hours.

Putting Course

Outdoor Game Deck

The outdoor game deck offers recreation for adults and children all day long. Whether you like ping pong or billiards, fun is on deck. First come, first served. Parents must accompany children. Available to Grand Cascades Lodge guests only.

Croquet is a sport that involves hitting wooden or plastic balls with a mallet through hoops embedded in a grass playing court.

Glow Golf

Enjoy a variety of nighttime golf challenges using glow-in-the-dark golf balls! Come out for our exciting chipping and putting contests, as well as the closest to the pin competition. Great fun for all ages and skill levels. Hosted nightly, weather permitting, on the natural grass putting course at Grand Cascacdes Lodge. Putters and glow balls are available on a first come, first served basis.

Scavenger Hunt

Amuse yourself with our fun Scavenger Hunt. Track down fun and unique items located throughout the Resort. Directions located at the Front Desk of your hotel.

Forest Bathing

Allow our Resort Naturalist to take you on a guided journey to quiet the mind and deepen the connection with your inner self and the natural world through practicing sensory awareness such as scent, sight, sound and breath. This soothing walk culminates in a 10-minute guided meditation with an emphasis on connecting with the earth.

Nature Trail

Take a walk along our picturesque on-property Nature Trail. The trail is approximately three miles long with some challenging uphill sections. Weather appropriate footwear is strongly recommended.

Farm Tour at Vernon Valley Farm

Guests can enjoy an educational tour at nearby Vernon Valley Farm, where the managing farm team utilize nature's synergies to create a fully sustainable farm. Guests will enjoy a guided tour of the farm, interact with various farm animals and harvest fresh fruit or vegetables in season. Vernon Valley Farm consists of over 270 acres, with exquisite views of our area.

Visits from the Farm

Meet farmer Keith’s friendly animals! Learn fun facts about baby goats, ducks, chickens, bunnies, sheep, miniature horses, alpaca and other farm favorites.

Pony Rides

There's nothing more exciting for young children than take a ride on a friendly pony. Our guides will lead the animals and allow kids to pet the gentle ponies. Ideal for children under 100 lbs. Must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Meet the Chickens

Learn everything you’ve ever wondered about raising chickens with our own Farmer Keith! Meet some of his feathered friends as he shares fun facts, daily tasks and the benefits of raising these versatile animals! No charge, no reservations needed.

Koi Feeding

Visit the Koi Pond adjacent to the Pro Shop & Vista 180° pool. This colorful ornamental species of fish enjoy warm water and one of the most beautiful pond fish available. Guests are asked to be patient as we take turns feeding the Koi. Free for hotel guests.

Bee Keeper Talks

Join Beehive Master JC Cowell for a casual talk as we dive into the world of honey bees. Visit JC in the amphitheater to see an actual hive in action as you learn about these amazing insects.

Chef's Garden Tour

Enjoy a tour of our 100% organic garden which was designed to be aesthetic and educational, plus supply seasonal bounty to Resort guests and day visitors. This inspiring outdoor venue includes beautiful organic vegetables, flowers, herbs and the Kittatinny Mountain Range as a back drop.

Solar Art Prints

Start by taking a hike on the nature trail to pick up interesting leaves, pinecones and sticks . . . anything with a unique shape {even bring your favorite toy!} Then join together to create a work of art using cyanotype paper. We’ll place our items on the paper, expose it to the sun, and develop our prints in water. No reservations. All ages welcome. Parental assistance required.

Marshmallow Roasts

Adults and kids alike enjoy the fun activity of roasting marshmallows. Gather round our toasty fire pits for this communal experience. Marshmallows & sticks included.

Sparkler Photos

Our Resort Photographer will take long exposure photos of your family as you make shapes or write words in the air using real sparklers. The results of this special effect method are awesome. Adult supervision required. First come, first served.

Golf at Minerals Golf Course

Designed by Robert Trent Jones, the executive layout of this inviting 9-hole golf course in NJ makes it perfect for every member of the family.

FootGolf

FootGolf is two sports rolled into one, where the precision, power, and passion found in both golf and soccer is combined to create one amazing playing experience. FootGolf is played by kicking a soccer ball {on a golf course} into an oversized hole to score - with rules that are similar to golf. FootGolf takes just 2 hours to play 18 holes and the best part is, it can be enjoyed by anyone ages 6 or older.

Bungee Fitness

Bungee Fitness is a motion based resistance training class. It uses a combination of fitness training + a full body cardio workout that is high intensity all while you float weightlessly. All levels are welcome. {Ages 16+}

Enjoy an educational outdoor hike as you trek along the Wild Turkey Nature Trail onsite at Grand Cascades Lodge. Don't forget to stop at the dozens of nature signs throughout the hike where you will learn about local wildlife, plants and birds.

Big Splash Contest

Gather at the Minerals outdoor pool to put your cannonball skills to the test! Whoever makes the biggest splash off the Minerals Cliff Jump is the winner!

Duck Races

This seasonal activity is sure to ‘quack’ you up! Gather at the Minerals outdoor pool for a fun race to the finish in giant rubber duck floats.

Hosted on the Great Lawnof Minerals every Thursday night in the summer. Come show off your baseballslugging skills and be crowned champion of the day in our wiffleball homerun derby. Be sure to sign up in advance to grab a spot at the top of the lineup.

Kids Nature Exploration
