The Twits are coming to Netflix! The latest of the streamer's Roald Dahl adaptations will premiere in 2025, with Margo Martindale (Cocaine Bear), Natalie Portman (May December), Emilia Clarke (Secret Invasion), and Johnny Vegas (Still Open All Hours) leading the voice cast. The Twits will follow Mr and Mrs. Twit, the meanest, smelliest, nastiest people in the world, who also happen to own and operate the most disgusting, most dangerous, most idiotic amusem*nt park in the world, Twitlandia. But when the Twits rise to power in their town, two brave orphans and a family of magical animals are forced to become as tricky as the Twits in order to save the city.

The streamer has also released some first-look images of the upcoming feature. Check them out below.

Helmed by Phil Johnston, who earned a 2019 Academy Award nod for Ralph Breaks the Internet, the animated feature is adapted from Dahl's 1980 novel of the same name. Johnston, who co-directs the film alongside Katie Shanahan and Todd Kunjan Demong and co-wrote the script alongside Meg Favreau, shared his excitement about working on The Twits, telling Netflix's Tudum that The Twits was his favorite book growing up. He added:

"I've always been attracted to reprehensible characters. I don't know what this says about me, and I really don't want to look into it. I love the Twits and their terrible tricks. I love that they lack self-awareness and personal hygiene and any inkling of human decency. And I love this movie because it reminds us that twits like the Twits, whose default emotions are anger and vengeance, can't be allowed to win in our world."

Johnston also produces alongside Maggie Malone and Daisy May West.
