One slice of toast topped with the beef mixture is enough for 1 serving. VERY good flavor and so easy!! I used a little more cheese than called for and served with bagged salad. Either use the optional pickles jalapenos or add a can of diced chiles it needs it for a little kick.

Made it for dinner tonight, my 2 teens loved it. Ran out of ketchup so didn't add the full cup, but it was still tasty. I liked the jalapeno addition. Will definitely make again.

I tweaked this recipe a little bit. I used 1 lb lean ground beef and 1/2 lb ground sweet Italian sausage. I used fire roasted diced tomatoes with garlic. I did not use the jalapeños but instead used crumbled bacon with jalapeños sprinkled on top of the shredded cheese. (I found this by the croutons and bacon bits.) I only put the bacon on my husband's dish since I don't like jalapeños. I think I will cut back or omit the BBQ sauce. It was too strong of a flavor and overpowered the other tastes. I served it with pasta salad from the grocery store deli. The recipe was easy and fast to make. Will definitely make this again. Hubby loved it too! This is surely not your mother's sloppy joes! I only gave it 4 stars because of the BBQ flavor.

Nice alternative to what we usually eat every week! Made with peppers and thought it had just right amount of kick. But, it is a heavy meal so don't have big plans for after dinner...made me ready for a nap!

Usually when I mention the possibility of sloppy joes, two or three family members groan. However, they inhaled this and praised it. I not only liked the taste, but the ease of preparation. I will use this recipe in my rotation.

I use Food Lion's generic garlic loaf, and slice for individual portions. I could eat this stuff 7 days a week. Great meaty taste, and plenty of bang in the tang!

We also use ground turkey instead of beef. And even without the jalapeno peppers it tastes fantastic! Easy, quick good meal anytime of the year.

This is a tasty, fast, easy week night meal. I used ground round and substituted 1 tablespoon chopped chipotle peppers and that gave it a very nice smoky flavor with just a bit of kick. We had cole slaw and fruit salad for side dishes . Will definitely make it again.

This was quick and easy and really delicious. My 3 kids (ranging from 2-11) ate it up and my husband ate 3 pieces! Not especially healthy, but for a baseball night, perfect :) I did modify just a bit- used ground turkey, reduced ketchup to 3/4 cup (using organic HFCS free ketchup), Bull's Eye original BBQ and instead of the jalepenos I added a few generous shakes of tabasco sauce.

I found this recipe much too tangy, although my husband liked it. I did not add the optional jalapeño peppers. I will be interested to see how others might doctor it and see if the results are less tangy.
